The 2022-2023 NBA season resumes Wednesday (Nov. 9) with 26 teams in action. Take a look at three team bets for today’s action including the Milwaukee Bucks, the Phoenix Suns and the New Orleans Pelicans.
#1 Best NBA Team Bet: Milwaukee Bucks -2 (-110)
Despite losing their last contest by nearly 20 points, the Milwaukee Bucks were the NBA’s best team this season. The Bucks’ stifling defense ranks first in the NBA for both opponents’ points per game and defensive rating, leading the team to a 9-1 record. They were able to overcome an offensive that was struggling compared to previous seasons and finished 19th in both points per game and offensive rating.
Milwaukee will attend the 4-6 Oklahoma City Thunder on Wednesday. The Thunder are currently in the midst of a three-game losing streak that includes a 14-point loss to the Bucks in which Giannis Antetokounmpo did not play. Oklahoma City’s offense, currently ranked 23rd in points per game and 27th in offensive standings, just doesn’t have the firepower to match the Bucks.
With Giannis expected to appear in court Wednesday, look to Milwaukee to close the Thunder again. Expect the Bucks to win by at least a three point margin.
#2 Betting on Best NBA Team: Phoenix Suns ML (+100)
The 7-3 Phoenix Suns are currently tied for the second-best record in the Western Conference. Their defense was among the best in the league, ranking second in opposing points per game and third in defensive rating. Despite struggling in their last game and scoring just 88 points, their offense ranks 15th in points per game and sixth in offensive rating.
Their opponents, the Minnesota Timberwolves, have been pretty disappointing since taking on Rudy Gobert and going into the season with high hopes. The Timberwolves are only 5-6 and have been battling on both sides of the ball. In their last meeting with Phoenix, Minnesota lost by nine points. While the Timberwolves may be playing a better game on their home court, expect the Suns to walk away with the win once again.
#3 Bet on Best NBA Team: New Orleans Pelicans -2 (-105)
The New Orleans Pelicans didn’t get off to the start they hoped, and are only 5-5 after ten games. However, three of their losses have come in overtime. While New Orleans’ offense was great, finishing first in points per game and fifth in offensive rating, their defense struggled, finishing only 20th in opponents’ points per game and 17th in the defensive rating.
The Pelicans visit the 6-6 Chicago Bulls, who have struggled offensively and are only 18th in both points per game and offensive rating. While the Bulls defense ranks 10th in opposing points per game and fifth in defensive rating, they should struggle to slow down New Orleans. Expect the Pelicans to win this game by at least a three point margin.
