World Travelogue Series: Portugal & Spain Screens at 1:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. at the Capitol Theater. The Harry & Virginia Murray Foundation’s World Travelogue Series presents Rick Steves’ Portugal & Southern Spain. This event is free and open to the public.

Hike through a park: Starr’s Cave from 3 to 4 p.m. at Starr’s Cave Nature Center. Des Moines County Naturalist Jacklyn Goodman leads a three-mile hike through one of Des Moines County’s most beautiful and fascinating natural sites, Starr’s Cave Park & ​​Preserve. Live! From Salem at 5 p.m. at the Burlington Public Library. The Salem Witch Museum presents The Salem Witch Trials: Live! Saturday November 12th

Blackhawk Craft Expo is from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Southeastern Community College. Local artisans gather for this annual event at the Lauren Walker Arena at Southeastern Community College. Find the best of handmade, homemade and direct sales – no admission.

Town Hall Meeting: The Story of Danville at 1 p.m. at the Des Moines County Heritage Center. From a stagecoach stop to a thriving city, learn about Danville’s history and development – and its amazing connection to Anne Frank. This event is free and open to the public.

Formal fashion show takes place from 5pm to 8pm at the Heritage Garden Event Center. You don’t have to wait until February to attend a fabulous fashion week – visit the Heritage Garden Event Center and enjoy a top-notch runway show with local designer Sarah Hall. Ultimate Frisbee at 2 p.m. at the Burlington Area YMCA. Try Ultimate Frisbee, a fast-paced, team-based sport that almost anyone can play. Participants learn throwing techniques, game basics and have the opportunity to put their new skills to the test in a game. No equipment or registration required – just make sure you stop inside and sign a waiver before playing.
