KUWAIT CITY, Oct. 27: Kuwait’s Foreign Minister Sheikh Salem Al-Abdullah praised the excellent historical and close bilateral relationship between Kuwait and the United States of America and the existing strategic partnership between them and said he looks forward to more Progress and development at all levels.
In his speech at the ceremony organized by the US Embassy to mark the 246th anniversary of the independence of the United States, Sheikh Al-Abdullah emphasized the depth of these ties in various fields and at all levels in order to realize the common interests of the two countries and their friendly ones People. He noted that during his tenure as Kuwait’s Ambassador to the United States, his daily work has been to emphasize the strength of the bilateral relationship and show that it is on the right track. He continued, “We are proud of the progress of bilateral relations and the United States of America is a popular destination for Kuwaiti students, patients and tourists and holds a special place in the heart of every Kuwaitis.” Sheikh Al Abdullah commended the Ambassador’s efforts and contributions in strengthening the close bilateral ties linking the two friendly countries. For his part, Chargé d’Affaires at the US Embassy in Kuwait, James Holtsnider, described Kuwait as a reliable international partner and “we look forward to working with the new administration on our common future.”

Stressing that democracy is not a guarantee but must be earned and protected, he stated that the United States has supported democracy throughout history and thanked all military personnel in Kuwait and abroad for their work and sacrifices. He praised the US-Kuwait relationship, which he described as “long-standing and historic”, considered it a great legacy for us as partners, allies and friends, noting that this year marks the beginning of the seventh decade of diplomatic Relations between the two countries witnessed the celebration of the 31st anniversary of Kuwait’s liberation through Operations Storm and Desert Shield, where the United States formed a coalition of 35 countries that managed to liberate them from the clutches of the invasion. He added that during the few years that I was in Kuwait, Kuwait was an amazing ally. When Ukraine was occupied by Russia, Kuwait was on the right side of history and supported the decision to send humanitarian aid to Ukraine, played a leading role in the evacuation of American diplomats and nationals from Afghanistan, and thanked His Highness Amir Sheikh Nawaf Al -Ahmad for his partnership and leadership. Holtsnider described Secretary of State Sheikh Salem Al-Abdullah as a true diplomat and ambassador in every sense of the word, with vast experience and a rich career spanning nearly three decades in the United States, Korea and other countries, noting that This has been the case for the past 20 years. He works daily to strengthen and support US-Kuwait relations. In a statement to reporters on the sidelines of the ceremony, Holtsneider noted that the large attendance reflects the United States’ position and the depth of the partnership between the two countries, and looks forward to working with the Secretary of State to support the bilateral relations process. When the Kuwaiti media tried to get a statement from Foreign Minister Sheikh Salem Al-Abdullah on the sidelines of the celebration, he joked: “The media is in my heart and we will open all doors to you.”
