West Houston’s CityCentre readies for Santa, holiday events

CityCentre is getting ready for the holiday season with a whole host of events planned.

Holiday in the Plaza kicks off the month-plus celebration on Saturday, November 26 from 12pm to 5pm.

Visitors have the opportunity to visit and take photos with Santa and two of his reindeer during Holiday in the Plaza. The Houston Show Choir performs at 1:30 p.m., 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. Guests are advised to arrive early as wait times for photos with Santa can vary widely.

CityCentre is a mixed use area with numerous shops, restaurants, entertainment venues and other businesses. It is located at 800 Town & Country Blvd. in west Houston off Beltway 8 and Interstate 10.

Santa’s shopping spree

Santa will be walking and shopping at the CityCentre on Saturday 3 December from 4pm to 8pm. CityCentre joins the celebrations by presenting fun activities and special event discounts. Behind Candytopia is a professional chalk artist; Face painting near Sephora and a free gift at Bowl & Barrell. Many stores are offering discounted Christmas gifts during the event. Get a gift card with 20 percent off The Escape Game or an extra gift with a purchase from Kendra Scott. For the adults, CityCentre is presenting complimentary tumblers in the plaza for use at a limited number of retailers serving wine tasting during the shopping spree.

Rudolph Lauf

The 12th Annual Rudolph 5k Fun Run, Dasher 10k and Cupid 1k are scheduled for Saturday, December 10 from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. The event starts at the CityCentre and meanders through the neighborhoods, offering a scenic route with fabulous Christmas decorations. All ages and runner speeds – walkers, joggers, strollers – and anyone looking to have fun are welcome. Contestants are encouraged to smile for the camera and show off their festive costumes. The winner of the best holiday costume will receive a gift certificate. Stay after the run for photos with Santa and special treats including mimosas and more. Rummel Creek Choir

The Rummel Creek Elementary School Choir will present holiday favorites on Thursday, December 15 from 5-7 p.m.

Hanukkah celebration

Join Rabbi Goldstein for a Hanukkah celebration on Tuesday, December 20 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the CityCentre. Gather for prayer and song to celebrate with the congregation.

Noon New Year’s Eve 2022

Weather permitting, welcome in the New Year at the CityCentre with a family-friendly New Year’s Eve celebration from 11am to 1pm on Saturday 31 December. Dance with a DJ and top off the midday hour with bubbles, face painting, temporary tattoos and balloons, and caricaturists. Visitors can capture all the fun with Lucky Shots’ magical mirror photo booth.

New Year’s concert

Celebrate the last day of 2022 with live music at the CityCentre from 3pm to 8pm Saturday 31st December. Jon David Finney will start the afternoon with his band from 3pm to 4:30pm. The Mockingbirds will take the stage from 5pm to 8pm for a grand finale in 2022. Before the evening concludes, capture all the memories in the Lucky Shots photo booth. Parking is free on all upper levels of all three garages.

New Years Eve Tribute Band Weekend

Moran CityCentre and Tito’s Vodka are presenting an adults-only New Year’s Eve weekend package featuring tribute bands, a Bloody Mary brunch and more on Saturday and Sunday 30th and 31st December to ring in the new year.
