Nashville, Tennessee (November 17, 2022) – The Nashville Predators Foundation and SmileDirectClub today announced that Persist Nashville will receive a SuperGrant totaling $50,000 tonight when the Predators defeat the New York Islanders at Bridgestone Arena receive. The funding will support Persist Nashville’s program, which provides support, coaching and community to Nashville high school seniors pursuing college degrees.
“We are proud to partner with SmileDirectClub to present a SuperGrant to Persist Nashville,” said Rebecca King, vice president of community relations for Nashville Predators. “The Preds Foundation is grateful for the opportunity to financially support this amazing organization that has coached more than 2,700 Nashville graduate students.”
Persist Nashville strives to unite the community to double Nashville’s college graduation rate by empowering students throughout their college experience. These include text-based and face-to-face coaching with trained professionals, and fostering community with student-led study groups and on-campus events. The SuperGrant will cover salary costs and equipment for a new coach hired to expand the organization’s reach by helping more students enroll and stay in college.

Introduced during the 2019-20 season as part of the groundbreaking partnership between the Predators Foundation and Nashville-based SmileDirectClub, multiple SuperGrants ranging from $25,000 to $100,000 will be awarded each season to community organizations in Middle Tennessee. Funds are provided to support the programming or completion of major projects that empower people during times of life transition. Including the funds awarded Home Street Home Ministries, Monroe Harding, regaining independence and maple built$200,000 in financial support was distributed from the SuperGrant program last season.
