Cowgirl Soccer’s Yochum Named Scholar All-American

KANSAS CITY, Mon- Oklahoma State Grace Yochum was added to her long list of honors when she was named to the 2022 United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-America First Team.

Yochum, a Houston midfielder, is only the fifth cowgirl in the program’s history to receive Academic All-America First Team honors, alongside Yolanda Odenyo, Krista Lopez, Hannah Webb and Anna Beffer.

Yochum brings the total number of academic All-Americans in OSU football to 23, with 14 different cowgirls achieving that status.

Along with Yochum, OSU’s Olivia Dowell and Ally Jackson collected awards from United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-West Region; Yochum was a first-team selection while Olivia Dowell and Ally Jackson were called up to the second team.

Yochum is now a three-time United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-Region contributor and the only cowgirl alongside Odenyo to have accomplished the feat, while Dowell has been recognized twice.

Yochum, a graduate student, has a 3.76 grade point average and is a four-time Academic All-Big 12 First Team performer. She earned a bachelor’s degree in education and a minor in coaching science from OSU last May.

The most prolific goalscorer in the history of the OSU program, Yochum capped her five-year career by collecting All-America honors when she scored eight team-high goals, gave from those game winners, and provided an assist.

Yochum finished her career at the top of the cowgirl career charts with 41 goals and 91 points in 86 games.

Dowell, also one of the top scorers in program history, finished her OSU career with eight goals and two assists in 2022. The forward finished second in the Big 12 in terms of shots, and her 246 career shots are second on the all-time list cowgirls .

Dowell ranks fifth all-time at OSU with 31 goals, sixth with 82 points, and ninth with 20 assists.

With a 3.83 GPA, Dowell graduated from OSU this semester with a degree in Applied Exercise Science/Strength and Conditioning and is a three-time Academic All-Big 12 First Team honoree.

One of the best defensemen in OSU history, Jackson played 94 games in her five seasons at Stillwater, including 83 as a starter. She led the Cowgirls in minutes played among fielders in each of the last four seasons and finished her career with nearly 8,000 minutes of action.

Jackson anchored an OSU defense in 2022 that conceded just 14 goals and had 10 shutouts in 19 games; Both finished second in the Big 12.

A native of Allen, Texas, Jackson took the lead for the Cowgirls last season with three assists and finished her career with three goals and four assists.

Jackson earned degrees in marketing and management from OSU, where she achieved a 3.52 GPA and was named to the Academic All-Big 12 First Team four times.
