Wakanda Forever Makes Its Mexican Premiere

Stars and filmmakers of Marvel Studios’ highly anticipated sequel, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, hit the red carpet this weekend in Mexico City to celebrate the feature film’s theatrical release. Stars including Letitia Wright, Lupita Nyong’o, Tenoch Huerta Mejía and Mabel Cadena were joined by co-writer and director Ryan Coogle and producer Nate Moore at Wednesday night’s special event at the Plaza Satélite. The cast and filmmakers gathered in front of the famous Monumento a la Revolución in Mexico City to take photos and discuss the film with the media and fans.

Marvel Studios’ Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, the sequel to the Oscar-winning 2018 superhero film Black Panther, stars Queen Ramonda (Angela Bassett), Shuri (Wright), M’Baku (Winston Duke). ), Okoye (Danai Gurira) and the Dora Milaje (including Florence Kasumba) fight to protect their nation from encroaching world powers after the death of King T’Challa (the late Chadwick Boseman). As the Wakandans scramble to begin their next chapter, with the help of War Dog Nakia (Nyong’o) and Everett Ross (Martin Freeman), the heroes must band together and forge a new path for the kingdom of Wakanda.

The action drama introduces Mejía as Namor, ruler of a hidden underwater nation, and also stars Dominique Thorne, Michaela Coel and Alex Livinalli. In addition to Moore, “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” is produced by Kevin Feige, President of Marvel Studios. Joe Robert Cole, who co-wrote the original film, returned to the series to co-write the sequel with Coogler, who also wrote and directed the first feature film.
