2023: After Meeting With Nigerians in Diaspora, APC Flagbearer, Tinubu Makes Strong Vow

  • Asiwaju Bola Tinubu has continued to communicate his intentions regarding his 2023 ambitions to Nigerians at home and abroad

All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has pledged to harness the existing expertise and manpower of Nigerians in the diaspora for the country’s development.

Asiwaju Tinubu spoke at the 3rd National Convention of the All Progressives Congress, USA Chapter, held over the weekend in Newark, New Jersey.

Asiwaju Tinubu, represented at the event by Mr. Dele Alake, the APC Presidential Campaign Council’s Media, Communications and Public Affairs Advisor, said he would draw on the expertise of APC diaspora members and Nigerians in general Diaspora for Nigeria’s Accelerated Development.

Tinubu noted that as a former diasporan, he himself knows and fully understands the wealth of talents and expertise of Nigerians in the diaspora and that more than any other candidate he is in a unique position to harness and apply them to nation building.

Mr. Alake informed Congress about the high profile Asiwaju seats at APC-USA and that his principal had personally directed that senior members of his media team be required to attend Congress. Mr. Alake thanked APC-USA for supporting Asiwaju and making Asiwaju Tinubu the focus and theme of the convention.

The APC chief sheds more light on the Tinubu/Shettima ticket

Prince Ade Omole, the Director of Diaspora Directorate, APC Presidential Campaign Council, informed the audience that the Tinubu/Shettima ticket is for a better Nigeria and for the well-being of Nigerians both at home and in the diaspora.

He stressed the direction of the Tinubu/Shettima campaign and referred to the 2023 Renewed Hope (Manifesto), which he described as an action plan of programs that the Tinubu/Shettima government will implement and deliver to the Nigerian people when they become President and Vice President is elected President of Nigeria.

Prince Omole assured APC diaspora members and Nigerians in the diaspora that the administration of Asiwaju Tinubu will have robust diaspora input and engagement. He also commended APC-USA for making Asiwaju Tinubu the focus of Congress and pledged to continue the diaspora campaign from the US to other countries.

As guest speaker, Professor Olarewaju Fagbohun, SAN, spoke on the theme of the Congress: Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu: The President of Nigeria needs this time and praised Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s unusual leadership and vision.

Professor Fagbohun, who is also a former Vice Chancellor of Lagos State University (LASU), concluded that Asiwaju Tinubu is the president NIgeria currently needs to address and solve the problems of poverty, insecurity and corruption. He advised his audience and Nigerians to read his book on Asiwaju, which he believes captured the man Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Other speakers at the Congress included Senator Lawal Shuaibu, former Vice National Chair of North of APC, Mr Tunde Doherty, Chair of APC UK, Mr Dayo Israel, APC National Youth Leader, who also served as National Chair, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, represented, and Mr. Kayode Opeifa, a former commissioner in Lagos State. They all talked about the man Asiwaju and how Asiwaju will change the country and make it work for all Nigerians.

The election assembly produced new party national officers, including Professor Adesegun Labinjo, who was re-elected national chair of APC-USA.

Prof. Labinjo reiterated APC USA’s commitment to work tirelessly to win the Tinubu/Shettima presidential ticket in the February 2023 presidential election.

He said that APC-USA was the first section of APC to set up a presidential campaign committee to ensure victory for the party’s presidential ticket.

He said APC USA has since started to engage and raise awareness among Nigerians in the diaspora to travel home and vote Tinubu, and also to sell the APC presidential ticket to their relatives and family members living in Nigeria.

Professor Labinjo said that APC-USA will soon take its campaign to Nigeria to rally support for APC flag bearers at all levels and donate campaign materials to the APC Presidential Campaign Council. Prof. Labinjo assured the convention that the APC-USA will use its technological resources to closely monitor the 2023 elections to ensure they are free and fair, and to report any misconduct before, during and after the elections and any Expose and hold person accountable Group of people engaging in unhealthy activities.

2023: No presidential candidate better than Tinubu, says Ribadu

For his part, former head of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, has stated that no presidential candidate in the upcoming 2023 general election is better than Tinubu.

Ribadu, a former presidential candidate on the platform of the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria, made the comments Thursday, November 10, during the inauguration of the APC’s Stakeholder Relations Directorate.

The Adamawa-born politician said the task of garnering support for APC was made easier with the emergence of Tinubu as the party’s flag-bearer.

Elections 2023: My opponents confused, disoriented, says Tinubu

Meanwhile, Tinubu has taunted his opponents in the upcoming election, saying they are confused and disoriented.

The APC presidential candidate made the remark on Thursday, April 10.

He said that instead of articulating issue-based campaigns, his opponents resort to overt attacks on people and personalities.
