Fresno State started 1-4 with losses to Oregon State, USC, UConn and Boise State. The Bulldogs would go on a winning streak thereafter, successively defeating San Jose State, New Mexico, San Diego State, and Hawaii.
In Friday’s UNLV game, the Bulldogs went into the break 16-14 behind. Fresno State scored 23 points in the second half en route to a 37-30 comeback win. QB Jake Haener finished the game with 313 yards and three scores. Jordan Mims had 70 rush yards and a TD.
On the Nevada side, they won their first pair against New Mexico State and Texas State, and then lost in the next seven games to Incarnate Word, Iowa, Air Force, Colorado State, Hawaii, San Diego State, and San Jose State.
Nevada, who faced Boise State on Saturday, was 21-3 down before halftime. The Wolf Pack dropped points in every quarter in a 41-3 defeat. Shane Illingworth had 123 passing yards and Toa Taua rushed 16 times for 103 yards.
The Bulldogs are 6-2 ATS in their last eight in November and 3-8 ATS in their last 11 overall. Fresno State is 1-4 ATS in their last five away games.
Meanwhile, the Wolf Pack are 1-5 ATS in their last six conference games and 1-5 ATS against a team with a track record. Nevada is 1-7 ATS in the last eight standings.
SELECT: I’m staying at Fresno State. The Bulldogs pulled off a pretty solid win against UNLV in their last game, catching 21 first downs, 381 total yards and 6 of 12 on third-down attempts. Fresno State has been doing very well lately, with 32 or more points in four straight games.
Nevada was beaten pretty badly by Boise State in their last game. The Wolf Pack gave up a total of 528 yards and 25 first downs in that one and didn’t have much offense to call. This will be another tricky matchup for Nevada.
