Amp Camp fundraiser at Craft Local

Amp Camp is a music workshop for school children hosted by local musicians each summer. Find out more and hear some of the music from the program at Craft Local on Friday December 16 at 7pm. Meet faculty like Parker Brown, Alex Nauman, and Max Devitt and see what they and their students have accomplished in action. $20 suggested donation, kids are free.

Book discussion “To Make a Better Place” in the library

A panel of former lawmakers will discuss “To Make a Better Place” on Saturday, December 17 at 3:30 p.m. in the Billings Public Library common room. The book is a celebration of the Montana Constitution and the environmental movement in the 1970s that inspired it. At least 23 authors have contributed stories to To Make a Better Place and some of them will be in the library, including Reps. Dorothy Bradley, Thomas E. Towe, Harrison Fagg and Greg Jergeson, and historian Evan Barrett. This House of Books will have copies of the book available for purchase.

Another fun thing at the library this week is the book launch of Thomas Minckler’s “Montana: A Paper Trail,” a collection of letters, documents, and other rarities that tell the story of Montana and the northern plains, in the common room on Friday, April 7th 12 16.16., 6 p.m. At the same time in the handicraft corner on Friday, 16.12

moPSketo Single Release Party at Kirks’ Grocery

Billings-based progressive metal trio moPSketo are releasing a new single called “Candid” and to celebrate, they are hosting a release party at Kirks’ Grocery on Saturday December 17th at 7pm. They are backed by electronic dance tunes from Cold Fire. $10 upfront, $12 at the door.

Christmas cookie and beer party in the garage

Help welcome Thirsty Street Brewing Co. to their new full-time home in the garage for their Christmas cookie and beer party on Thursday, December 22nd from 4pm to 10pm. Wear a sweater and learn which beers go with which cookies. I recommend the As Fast As You Can gingerbread porter. The evening will conclude with music by Almeda Bradshaw from 4pm to 6pm and Geoff George from 6pm to 8pm

Thirsty Street will be busy over the holiday season with a carol sing-along on Friday 16 December at 7pm and music by Kindred on Saturday 17 December at 6pm

Cimarron are in the High Horse Saloon on Friday, December 16th. and Saturday, 17.12. from 9 p.m. – closed.

Rim Rock Hot Club, Billings’ one and only hot swing ensemble performs at The Walkers on Sunday December 18th from 7pm to 10pm

Celebrate Punk Rawk Christmas at Craft Local on Wednesday, December 21 with music by octopus drive by, Prickly Spirit and Ryan Supol. The songs go from 6-9 p.m
