How to watch the World Cup in Minnesota

This holiday season brings a new kind of “soccer” experience to the USA – the 2022 World Cup. The first game is already here, with kick-off on Sunday, November 20th at 10am. The tournament runs until December 18th.

FOX 9 will broadcast many of the biggest matchups, including the US men’s team, while FOX Sports will also broadcast all 64 World Cup games live on FOX and FS1, with every game being streamed live on the FOX Sports App.

Fans can follow all 64 World Cup games on FOX, FS1 and FOX Sports.com. All scheduled US games are on FOX on the following dates and times:

  • Monday, November 21: United States vs. Wales: 1pm CT, FOX
  • Friday, November 25: England vs. United States: 1pm CT, FOX
  • Tuesday, November 29: Iran vs. United States: 1pm CT, FOX

Should the US advance, these games will also be broadcast on FOX.

World Cup schedule

Given Qatar’s location in the Middle East, kick-off times in the Midwest range from early morning to mid-afternoon. The 64 games will be broadcast at the five different kick-off times of the World Cup.

November 20th to December 2nd: Group Stage

  • 4 p.m. CT: 12 games
  • 7 a.m. CT: 12 games
  • 9 a.m. CT: No games
  • 10 a.m. CT: 12 games
  • 1 p.m. CT: 12 games

3 December to 10 December: round of 16 and quarterfinals

  • 4 p.m. CT: No games

How to watch on your Smart TV

Both FS1 and FOX are available on all major streaming services in the US

Fans can stream games by downloading the FOX Sports app on Apple TV, Roku, Sling TV, XBOX, Google Chromecast, FireTV and Android TV.

Additionally, Tubi, owned by FOX, offers on-demand match replays for free in 4K. You can download the Tubi app on your Smart TV and create an account to start watching.

How to look on your phone

You can download the FOX Sports app by downloading it to your iPhone from the Apple App Store or to your Android or smartphone from Google Play.

The Tubi app is also available for download for Android and iPhone.

How to watch online

Both a FOX Sports account and a Tubi account give you access to watch games online.

Visit foxsports.com/instant-access and then you’ll need to sign in with an account from your paid TV subscription provider, such as DirectTV, Hulu, or YouTube TV.

You can stream matches for free on Tubi, but they won’t be live. Tubi will have all 64 games available on demand and will distribute them as replays via a World Cup channel. You can find them here.

Tubi has positioned itself as a popular destination for world championships. As previously mentioned, all 64 matches will be available free on demand and programmed into the 2022 World Cup Tubi channel as 4K resolution replays.

Tubi’s World Cup channel and on-demand offerings also include premium library content, including series and films highlighting past and future FIFA World Cup tournaments.

Here you get — for free — access to Tubi’s FIFE World Cup FAST Channel.

The Minnesota United (MNUFC) will host World Cup Watch Parties at Allianz Field in St. Paul, and FOX 9 will also have a noon streaming show for each Watch Party.

Fans can head to Allianz Field to cheer on the US men’s national team as they kick off the World Cup game in Qatar. For all three USMNT group stage games, watch parties will be held at the Brew Hall in Allianz Field, with doors opening at 11:30am before kick-off at 1pm.

The clock parties take place on the following days:

  • Monday 21st November, USA vs Wales
  • Friday 25 November: USA vs England
  • Tuesday, November 29: USA vs. Iran

Ahead of the 1:00 p.m. – 12:00 p.m. kick-off – FOX 9 will join MNUFC in a live streaming show to talk about all things football and see a preview of the World Cup. You can stream it here and on the FOX 9 YouTube channel.

Minnesota United also plans to host watch parties for the round of 16, quarterfinals, semifinals and finals.
