Chamber Connection: Plan ahead for 2023 economic forecast

Delaware Central Chamber of Commerce

Happy New Year Central Delaware. Was that too soon?

The Central Delaware Chamber of Commerce (CDCC) apologizes for any premature fear it may have caused, but that’s right, 2023 is practically upon us and the CDCC wants you, the community, to be informed on all things financial. The CDCC has your financial and economic New Year’s resolutions in mind to equip you with the information you need to make better financial decisions for yourself and/or your business.

Save the date for the CDCC’s 9th Annual Economic Forecast Breakfast on January 31, 2023 in the beautiful ballroom at the Maple Dale Country Club in Dover, the First State capital, from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m . Join CDCC & BIG Investment Services for an educational and engaging start to the day with your local business community tackling an issue that affects us all – the economy. Speakers at this event will provide insights into federal, state and local economic forecasts to help members prepare and position their businesses for success in the year ahead.

Attendees can expect to hear from the main sponsor of this event, BIG Investment Services.

Founder and President David Boothe will be present to address, offer advice and admonishment on the current economic market at the national level. The CDCC thanks Mr. Boothe and the team at BIG Investment Services for not only sponsoring this beneficial event for another year, but also for being trusted experts on the Central Delaware community.

BIG Investment Services is skilled at helping its clients with planning for retirement, taxes, personal investments, college, risk management and estate planning. If you are interested in learning more about BIG Investment Services the ideal would be to attend this event and hear from the representatives themselves, visit their website at www.abigplan.com or call them at 302-734-7526.

Expect to hear from Brenda Wise, Director of Policy and Communications at the Delaware Office of Management & Budget. Ms. Wise brings a background in Delaware law and experience urging budget analysts to consider the tax implications of upcoming legislation. Ms. Wise is passionate about changing the system for Delawareans on a larger scale, particularly in the business sector. All attendees will feel a lot wiser after Ms. Wise’s state-level finance address.

Linda Parkowski, Executive Director of Kent Economic Partnership/Choose Central Delaware, will be present to share her extensive knowledge of the region’s economic development. A Kent County native for over 30 years, Ms. Parkowski understands what the community needs and how to attract business to the area. Her local insight into Central Delaware’s economy is sure to be home while providing direction for listeners as they take what they hear and apply it to their businesses or personal goals.

The economic landscape can be intimidating and overwhelming, especially if that’s not your background. Business people have enough to take care of the day to day functions of their business or within their companies. This is why attending CDCC’s Economic Forecast Breakfast is so important because industry professionals can educate the public on the ups, downs and “needs to know” in easy-to-understand language that will help you and your business. In addition to the educational benefits, this breakfast meeting will also be a networking opportunity for everyone to connect with one another in ways that may not always be possible on a normal workday.

Tickets for this event are only $27 for CDCC members and $32 for non-members. Registration for this event opens in December. Please visit the CDCC website at cdcc.net or call the office at 302-734-7513 for more information and to register by January 4th.
